The BLOCK lamp designed by Harri Koskinen became an immediate success after the introduction in 1996. BLOCK is a great gift to every home and office. The size of the BLOCK is 16,5 cm x 10 cm x 9,5 cm. The BLOCK has a beautiful classic gift box.
Each part of the lamp is hand cast and undergoes an extremely long cooling process to avoid cracking later on if exposed to strong temperature changes. The matt bulb shape is sand-blasted. The Block lamp is still one of Design House Stockholm’s most popular products and it has been part of the MoMA since 2000. There is also the smaller Mini Block available.
Harri Koskinen (b. 1970) is a versatile Finnish designer who studied at the Lahti Institute of Design and at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. His creations include a wide range of different products – furniture, tableware, glassware, lighting, candleholders, watches, textiles and much more – designed for world-renowned brands.
